Academy focuses on access
Alumni house renovated for disabled
John Yaeger had to carry his adult daughter Jessica into her sister's wedding reception in September at the Naval Academy's alumni house.
Jessica Yaeger, who uses a wheelchair, had no other way to make it up the five steps into 270-year-old Ogle Hall. Nor could she enter its women's room, forcing her to return to her home a block away to use a bathroom.

John Pilli of Annapolis, who built the award-winning brick duplexes at 5 Compromise St., hopes to give someone the opportunity to find out.
The developer’s second downtown project is called the Parish House, and involves turning the historic church at the corner of Maryland Avenue and Prince George Street into commercial space topped by three $600,000-plus condominiums.

Joan Datesman was on a mission. Having renovated a few dozen homes in her time, she was in search of her next quarry. In a quiet neighborhood just minutes from downtown, the pottery expert found a quaint but unassuming little house. But there was a spark of something there, beyond the cedar shake siding and sandstone exterior. She made up her mind to buy it on the spot.
